12-31 copy

Happy New Year!! I don’t know about you but I am more than ready to start over again next year. I decided this year I needed 2 New Years outfits. One is more conservative and one for the late night parties ( ok really I just couldn't stand wearing only one Party Dress I’ll admit it).

First my conservative outfit.

I have so many things lurking in my inventory that maybe I wore one time when I first got them or maybe they are like this Jacket by Wrong that I have never worn. I can’t tell you why I haven’t. I think its the cutest thing ever, maybe because I had a hard time finding a skirt to go under it. I did manage to finally find a skirt that wont take the jacket bottom off and it is from the LE: Buckle Empire Dress set by Pixel Dolls (no longer for sale). The skirt on this actually attaches to your legs so it works perfectly.

For the top I am wearing a new outfit from Shai called Solid Gold Body Suit. She put the pants on the underpants layer as well as the pants layer so it can be worn like a body suit should be, under pants or skirts. She also had this great Disco Ball in her shop in the same texture, you should definitely go pick one up for your New Years Parties. The shoes I chose are my very favorite high heels ever, they are called Uptown by Prim Seduction. I topped the outfit off with Gold Chain Hoops from Kitty’s Rampage (no longer available) and the new Eva hair in Dirty Burnt by Etd. I had to fight my way through 40 other rabid shoppers last night at the ETD group’s presale but it was very much worth it. I wonder if I can hire Elika to come do this to my hair in rl…hehe.

Now my late night party outfit.

I kept my Eva hair because I am just that in love with it. But I added this new dress by Nylon called Gold Party Dress. This I think is the perfect New Years Dress and comes with a cute flexi bow around the waist and some great dangle earrings.

Because the dress itself was so glamorous I opted to wear some low key shoes. As I was fighting my way to hair at ETD last night I also discovered these adorable ballet flats. Then I added my Baltic Amber Necklace and Callia bracelet by Cailyn, a wooden bracelet from Caroline Appolo and a great big Martini and I am ready to party the night away.

I hope everyone has a Fun and Safe New Years!!

I’m back from the holidays. I think lately I’ve been in an extra casual mood. I did some shopping last night for my birthday and I decided to make up an outfit from some of the new stores I found.

To start I found a super cute thermal from Tres Blah by Julliette Westerbridge it’s on all 3 layers in a few different transparencies so I think it might be my new favorite undershirt (for this week at least). While I was checking out Tres Blah I wandered next door and found a shop called Happy Junk by Natalie Defiant. They had adorable little chokers and I of course had to choose the Pink Flamingo but they have a tiny zoo of them.

My next stop was at G.L.A.M. Chloris Hathor’s new shop, she does really great casual clothes especially jeans and I really like her update. I found this Safari shirt and on the back it has the word Glam on it and I took an up close picture of that so you can see how cute it really is.

I finished off the outfit with my khakis, Cutie Poof hair and a little preview of the new skin from Celestial Studios. I also went for my Reeboks again this one I call the Shinesse blend because I stole the color idea from her.

I’ll try to dress up a little more next time maybe for New Years.

So I’ve been really sick, I decided I needed a nice pink outfit to cheer me up and help chase away my cold. I started with this freebie/1L tank top from Soda called Pink Hearts Cami. For 1L she has some really cute shirts and a few other things that aren’t 1L but equally or more cute. Next I had to find my pinkest pants ever. These are from Mischief the outfit is called Candy Coated Cutie and the bows are just plain adorable.

I couldn’t leave it with just the tank and pants, it seemed too plain so I went to Port Seraphine and picked up this top at IKI. They are on sale right now for only 50L per color and you get the shirt on 3 layers in 2 lengths. They are perfect for outfit making and have the second most adorable bow in sl on the sleeves.

My next stop was the Reebok island to recolor my shoes to all pink. If you haven’t been there yet you must go. For 50L you get a pair of blank white shoes which are ok but then they have these kiosks that you pay 5L to recolor your shoes. I have mine saved in folders like “black /white”, “white/red”, “pink” etc. It’s also fun to drive around their empty city streets and contrary to popular belief it wasn't my driving that knocked all the buildings over ….promise.

My hair is from Hosequeen Mclean at Panache called Daphne in her hazel color. The bows are tintable and I like the cute bangs. Lastly I added my Pink Mixtape Necklace from Yummy and my Pink Plastic earrings from Shiny Things. I’m pretty sure I’ll find some fluffier pink outfits for the future…. just wait.

One of the reasons I like mixing outfits so much is that I really hate showing up in public dressed like other people. I mean we all buy from most of the same big designers so it’s bound to happen. When I first got the new fall line items from Paper Couture I was like “What can I mix these with??”

Then I remembered that I had found this dress at Nymphetamine awhile back always meaning to wear it as a shirt. She put the shirt on an undershirt layer and included pants and undies for it. This made me very happy because lately I have been into wearing my shirts “tucked in” to my pants. You can only accomplish this if a designer includes pants for prim dresses on an under pants layer.

I think this came out really classy looking and completely different from what either one looked like on its own. I paired it with some fishnets and my favorite black boots and I’m ready to go out on the town.

Cc12-5

Today I am wearing my Shimmer Dress from Double Trouble by Alyssum Therian. Aly is one of my good friends and I am happy to see her jumping back into the design world with this and a few other items. I tried to convey how bouncy and swishy this skirt is. Sometimes with flexi wear it can go terribly wrong this isn’t one of those times. This has the perfect amount of swish and that cute lil prim flower is icing on the cake. Now I will say that because of the way the skirt is made if you are like me and have a slightly larger waist than most it might cut into you on some poses. This is something that I have grown accustomed to with anything that hits me on my waist so it doesn't bother me.

I’ve paired this with one of the new holiday skins from Celestial Studios Frost is my favorite because it is very similar to her Frosting one of my all time favorite makeups. I’m also wearing the very sweet Debutante Hairstyle by Celestial studios and my Retrosweet shoes by Shiny Things I have to say that these might be 2 of my very favorite things in all of my wardrobe. I think they match just about any cutesy dress out there. I also added a sweater from Pixeldolls 2005 Holiday collection and the Summer Chintz Necklace from Cailyn's to give it that extra special 50’s vibe.

So the complete list of what I’m wearing plus locations (because search is still broken) :

Shimmer Dress by Alyssum Therian from Double Trouble, Velda (41,92,31)

Debutante Hair and Charmed Holiday Collection 06– 20–Frost with body shimmer by Starley Thereian of Celestial Studios, Celestial City sim

Hello

Hethr12-06

Let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Hethr Engel and I have been in Second Life for a little over 2 years now. Ever since my very first day I have been drawn to fashion and shopping. For about a year now my friends have been telling me I should start up a blog about fashion since it is basically all I do in SL.

Well here it finally is! I have not got a set idea of what I’ll be doing here, but I do know a few things. I won’t be covering every single item in the forums I feel there are enough sites doing that now, nor will I be strictly critiquing fashion. If I find things that I think are great to share those might show up here or if I get very excited about a new design and can’t help myself that might show up too.

Mostly what I wanted to do with this blog is to show you that you shouldn’t ever get tired of an outfit. One of my favorite things to do is to pick just any random piece from any random outfit and design a completely new outfit around it. You would be surprised how many pieces you can wear over and over that you never think about. I’m not sure if everyone will share my views on what is fashionable, but that’s fine. Maybe it will just get you thinking differently the next time you say “I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR!”.

I hope you enjoy this and please feel free to leave me any feedback, questions, comments, suggestions.
