Well this outfit started when I saw this fabulous Victoria sweater dress from CKSD. She has them now in many colors, but I really liked the idea of a black on that I could dress up. This also came with a great little jacket I’m sure you’ll be seeing another day.

 

The first thing I knew I needed was a belt. One of the quickest ways to change up any dress is to find the right belt. I chose the knit belt from Pixeldolls because not only does it come on tons of layers the fabric seemed to match my sweater dress fabric nearly perfectly. Then I went with the simple but bold sweater from the Strawberry set at Alchemy. I always think that red and black are a perfect pair.

 

Of course I had to choose either red or black shoes and I went with red, these Gisele Stilettos just seemed to pop. 

Some simple not too big silver jewelry listed below topped off the outfit. One new piece of jewelry I am wearing is this adorable black pearl ankle from Caroline Apollo. She has about 8 different designs out right now of anklets and they are all so dainty and beautiful.

 

I think I only have a few other anklets in my vast inventory so it’s nice to have some new ones. I wonder why these are such a forgotten accessory?

I don’t wear dresses very often or pink either, but I couldn’t help it with this outfit. I started with the Scottie Dress from CASHMERE. I love all the colors in this dress (yes, even the pink, lol). I really love the shape of the dress, too, because it’s so flattering. Over it, I’m wearing the White Multi-Top from the Crinoline Dress from PixelDolls. This jacket is the perfect length over a babydoll…I looked for the Crinoline Dress at PixelDolls, but I was unable to find it. I did find this jacket in two outfits in the PixelLounge, so the jacket is still available just not in its original outfit. I did give descriptions of the outfits to make it easier to find…I wanted to cover up the legs a bit because the girls were already on display, so I put on the Cropped Tie Bottom Leggings in Cloud (Tintable) from boing fromage. I tinted it a soft black to match the jacket. I love the cute, little tie attachments.

 

My shoes are the Black Satin Ballet Slippers from Allure. These really look like ballet slippers, and the shine of the satin fabric is absolutely perfect. I wanted a fun, bold necklace to match the feel of the dress. I’m wearing the Faedra’s Crest Necklace in Multi/Gold from EARTHTONES Boutique. I tinted the crystals to yellow and dark green to bring the focus up to the face. I love that the pendant is big, but not overpowering. I do love the multi options that are available for the jewelry because I really like being able to pick and choose the color combos.

 

My hair is the Survive hair in Smoke from ETD. This hair just has a really fresh look to it that I love. My skin is the Vogue Skin in Amber (Summer – 3) Light Freckles from Celestial Studios. OMG, I’m so in love with the new line of Vogue Skins. Expect to see me in these for quite some time. I did go a tone darker than my usual Cashmere tone. I’ve been wanting to go darker so it can feel more like me (I’m more of a light tan). The overall look of the makeup is very fresh and perfect for summer. I know this is sl, but when it’s hot outside, wearing heavy makeup in sl just feels wrong to me. Probably because I can envision the makeup melting off throughout the day (no amount of She Laq – Benefit’s makeup sealer - can save that). I can’t express how excited I was to see these skins. It has a sheer gloss, a fresh wash of color on the cheeks, and a light, almost ethereal, eye. Oh, and the brows, I am actually really picky about my brows. I prefer a thicker brow with a soft, natural arch. I think it’s most flattering when your brows match the midtones of your hair color. Ooh, and I went for the freckles this time. They’re so cute!

For this outfit, I started with the Birdy Skirt from the Birdy Outfit from First Impressions. The Birdy Outfit is a RFL outfit that is available only until Thursday when the next RFL outfit is released. The skirt is so cute because I just love birdies (well, all animals). I love a good knee-length a-line skirt, and this is definitely one of them. I paired it with the Papillon Burgandy Top from boing fromage. For some reason the top came out looking a bit more brownish for me, although I swear that it was more reddish before. Either way, I love the fabulously hand-drawn green lace detail peeking out the top. Over it, I’m wearing the Banana Jacket from Nylon Outfitters. I was so excited when I saw this in the group notice because I have a thing for jackets and lately a thing for yellow. All the detail on the jacket is superb. I particularly love the little pockets and the seaming.

 

My shoes are the Taupe Brocade Mules from Lassitude & Ennui. I love the brown piping; it really gives a crisp look to the shoe. The Shades of Blue Bangle from the Aurora Bloom Bangles Set from EARTHTONES Boutique is probably one of my faves because it’s a greenish wood textured one.

 

I’m wearing the Naomi hair in Smoke from ETD. I can’t get enough of this hair. I just love the wispy pieces and the bangs. My skin is the (DN) Vogue Skin in Cashmere (Vamp – Beguile) from Last Call. I love how the makeup changes the shape of the eyes.

Little bear ears, leopard print and ear flaps. Could I ask for anything more? Well maybe a hat just like it in rl (I would so wear this). The Beary Flappy Hat (such a cute name!) from {Soap} was the inspiration for this outfit. The hat originally came with hair attached, but I removed it. The hat is so cute and detailed. The texturing is awesome. I love the stiching on it, and the little ties are flexi. I’m wearing the Top from the recently released Striped Mini Outfit in Green from Kenzie. I love the neckline and button detail on this top. Over it, I have on the Mini Sweater in Sunwheat from the Dahlia Outfit from Last Call. The slouchy sleeves are just amazing. I’m wearing the Cut Off Jeans in Charred from tres blah. Again, the texturing details are fabulous, and I love the pockets on these.

 

My shoes are the Leopard Flats from indie. These are still on sale along with everything else in the store (I think everything is 50% off). I’m wearing the Gorilla Choker from Electric Jane’s. I got this because it makes me think of my brother (I miss you!). I call him a gorilla (and many other names, lol), and I’m a panda. I won’t get into the story because I don’t want to embarrass him (see I’m being nice, Toneless ), and I don’t want to get my butt kicked (ok, maybe not so nice, more like self preservation). Anyways, this choker is so cute. The prim work just amazes me. There are a ton of different animals, all equally as cute. I love that he even has a little banana to snack on when he gets hungry (aww, is Toneless hungries? ).

It’s been a while since my last post. Things have been busy, and my new kitty has had problem after problem, but he’s doing better now. His official name is now Oogie Boogie after the character in Nightmare Before Christmas cause he’s kinda shaped like him (he’s pudgy) and this way I can still call him Little Booger. So, anyways on to the outfit…..I started with the skirt from the Haver Outfit from Savvy? I love a pencil skirt, and the detail on this is fabulous – the wrinkles are amazing. I love the high waist with the suspenders and the buttons (love some good buttons). It is a system skirt which I am now ok with after some tweaking to my shape. Also, this is a particularly great system skirt because with the high waist, it doesn’t matter if your shirt tucks into your skirts because the high waist part covers it up (which is something that bugged me about other system skirts – I’m not a tucker). I really wanted to wear a jacket with this so I went with the Citrus Chic Bolero from the Citrus Chic Outfit from Punch Drunk. It was originally a bright orange, but I tinted it to a brownish color. I love the seaming on the jacket and the little pockets are so cute. Underneath I’m wearing the Floral Brocade Tube Top from the Floral Brocade Mailot Dress from Casa del Shai. The shine of the fabric is awesome; it makes the fabric look so rich. The gathering at the bust is also a great detail.

 

My shoes are, of course, the Vintage Pumps in Black from Shiny Things. I know I wear these shoes a lot, but I always seem to gravitate towards them. I felt like fishnets so I put on the Lulu OTK Fishnet Socks in Black from Celestial Studios. There’s just something about a pencil skirt with fishnets that I love. I also felt like wearing a hat and the Bird of Paradise Hat from Chapeau tres Mignon just fit in perfectly. I love the little pretty birdie with its little tail feathers. No picture did this hat justice because you really have to see it all up close. I wanted a simple necklace with this outfit so I chose the Poema Pearls Choker in Burgandy/Burgandy from Last Call. I love the rich color of it.

 

My hair is Trinitee in Smoke from ETD. Oh, and I did get my hair cut the other day and I did bring the pic of the Trinitee hair with me. I went to the Paul Mitchell School and basically you’re getting your hair done by students, but there are instructors supervising them (so they won’t screw up your hair). The female student or the guy supervising didn’t think anything of the sl picture. As for the cut, my bangs are similar to the Trinitee hair, but a little more textured. I let them do whatever they thought was best for the rest of my hair; I just wanted more movement and texture. The guy really knew what would be best for my hair because it’s so dense and he put a lot of texture in it. I think this is probably the best cut I’ve ever had and the cheapest. Oh, and I have my ponytail and it was more than 10 inches so I can donate it. So, I’m super happy about that. Ok, off my tangent now and on to the skin…..I did change my skin a little, well the makeup. It’s the new Deviant Nation – Vogue Skin in Cashmere (Vamp – Beguile) from Last Call. Starley just keeps outdoing herself. I love the eyeliner on the new skins, and the shine on the gloss. Super shiny gloss = happy me.

I think I’m on a green kick lately as seen by my last couple of posts. I’m wearing the Vintage Blouse in Green from tres blah. This was released when the Downtown sim opened. I’ve been waiting for a flowy blouse that I could belt in at the waist, and it’s finally here! The “flowy part” of the blouse is on the skirt layer, and while I do love flexi prims, I really like how the bottom of the blouse doesn’t cut through my avie. There are also prim pouf sleeve attachments to add an even more romantic feel to the blouse. I really love how the shading of the blouse really looks like it’s cinched at the waist. The belt is a part of the top, and I love the detail in the woven texture. The subtle tonal print also adds even more interest. I’m wearing the Skinny Jeans in Grey from indie. I love that the pants are continued on the sock layer as it feels like true skinny jeans. Although I may not wear this in RL due to the booty, in SL I’ve been converted and am a fan.

 

My shoes are the Leopard Flats also from indie. I love the print, and I think it gives a little funk to the outfit. My necklace is the Black Bead Necklace from Paper Couture. I love this necklace and it’s beautifully made. For some reason, the jewelry from the spring line is no longer out at either Paper Couture location. I’m sure it’ll be back soon, but for now I’m listing it as unavailable. I’m wearing the Polished Goldust Bangle (wide) from the Goldust Bangle & Cedar Spheres Set from EARTHTONES Boutique. There’s also a thin version in the set. I love the shine and the realistic texture on this.

So, I’ll let you in on a little secret….I’ve always had this desire to have dreads. The only way I’d be able to do this, given my hair type, is to get a dread perm. I’ve gotten a regular perm before (I was a naïve guinea pig) and the result wasn’t pretty (thick hair + perm = frizzy lion on crack). So, since I highly doubt I will be going through with that process, dreads in SL is the next best thing for me. This is the Zombie Dreads in Liquorice from Gritty Kitty. I love the mixture of the dreads and the little wisps of hair. The hat and the goggles are like the cherry on top.

 

I liked the idea of a girly skirt and dreads combo, so I went with the Tiered Flexi Skirt from the Casbah Outfit from Last Call. I love the colors in this skirt, and the texture is fabulous. I’m wearing the Lulu Boybeater in White from Celestial Studios. I love the ribbed texture and the wrinkles….but you can’t see the wrinkles because they are covered up by the Leather Corset from the Kadesh Outfit which is also from Last Call. The details on this corset are insane (a good insane)! There’s embossing on the front and an ingenious use of mail on the back.

 

I’m wearing shoes even though you can’t see my feet, lol. I’m wearing the Signature Sandals in Brown & Gold from Lassitude & Ennui. These are another pair of the amazing freebie sandals. My necklace is the Adventure Necklace from Yummy! Accessories which was released fairly recently. I love the different materials used in this necklace. I’m wearing the Brown Ringer Wristband from [Renegade].  There are left- and right-handed versions available in the set. I love the textured leather and the contrast it gives to the wristband. My skin is the Vogue Skin in Cashmere (Spring – Pure) from Celestial Studios. I like the pinky lips with the dreads.

So, I’m sure you all know about the tragedy that occurred earlier this week at Virginia Tech. And I’m sure you all know about the t-shirt that Callie Cline of caLLie cLine has created to help the victims. I think what Callie Cline is doing is just phenomenal. It’s amazing and wonderful to me that there are so many opportunities in SL to show support to people who have gone through tremendous things. This event has been in my thoughts a lot this week. It’s really sad to think that so many bright futures are suddenly gone. Well, I decided to use the VT Shirt as a basis for this outfit. I hope that everyone reading this will go buy this shirt and show their support. Ok, there’s my heartfelt plea….now on to the outfit. I’m wearing the men’s version of the VT Shirt from caLLie cLine. It is a bit longer than the women’s version. Their school colors are Chicago maroon & burnt orange, and the color of this shirt is just perfect. Over it, I have on the Crunch Jacket & Gloves from the Gold Crunch Outfit from Paper Couture. The gloves are a continuation of the sleeve. I like how the jacket has a sheerness to it; it’s like a tissue hoody. I’m wearing one of my favorite jeans, the Juju Jeans in Charcoal Delight from tres blah.

 

My shoes are the Sherpa Shoes in Chestnut from Jeepers Creepers. These had a name change at some point in time because they were called UGH Shoes before. But, they look the same as before from what I could tell. These are cute, comfy and super warm. I love them! I’m wearing the Cupcake Ring from the super yummy Candy Collection (Cupcake Set) from Canimal. How could I resist a cupcake? Especially a cupcake with chocolate frosting and rainbow sprinkles! Hooray for cupcakes!

 

My hair and skin are both from Celestial Studios. My hair is the Annie May Hair II in Espresso from the Annie May II Set in Almost Black. The color of this hair is just perfection. It’s black, but not too black, and it’s like my natural hair color (well, at least from what I can remember…it’s been a long time since it has been the original color). The shine is also equally perfect as it is just shiny enough and not too shiny. I love the style of the hair – it’s fun and very well done. The bands are color change, and I have it set to the dark orange color. My skin is the Vogue Skin in Cashmere (Spring – Fresh).

For this outfit, I started with the recently released Kyoot Fruit Babydoll Top in Green from Canimal (that is such a cute name – Kyoot Fruit). This is from that superhuge Candy Collection which is adorably cute. I love the sheerness and print of the fabric (and it’s green!). I’m wearing the Brown Knit Shrug from the Leatherette Outfit which is also from Canimal. I love all the detailing in this shrug, and it’s the perfect length for the babydoll top. I’m wearing the Trusty Jeans in Dark from LF Fashions, and yup, they are trusty jeans for me.

My shoes are the Nonni Shoes in Ivory from Last Call. I just love the little studs/rivets on these shoes. I’m wearing the Boho Necklace in Chocolate/Gold from EARTHTONES Boutique. I love how realistic this necklace looks with the color of the gold metal and the way the end of the leather strap looks.

 

My hair is the Med Wavy in Cinder from AVEDA Institues. I think this is my new favorite hair. I keep going back to it. Same thing goes for the skin I’m wearing, the Vogue Skin in Cashmere (Spring – Fresh) from Celestial Studios. I just love this skin and I seem to not be able to take it off (well, actually more like…I don’t want to take it off).

I was so excited when I saw the Blue Birds of Happiness Earrings from Essentia in the forums. They are little bluebirds in cage earrings. They are so adorably cute (and very well done). I love the name because it reminds me of the bluebird of happiness in the movie K-PAX and that my boyfriend cries at the part when they see the bluebird (lol, he’s a softie). The name also could refer to the blue bird of happiness in Maurice Maeterlinck’s The Bluebird. Whatever the inspiration was for the earrings (I’m sure that there are plenty of other references to bluebirds of happiness out there), they’re gorgeous and I love the use of symbolism. I’m wearing the Boho Bodice from the Erin Outfit from Last Call. This top is gorgeous. I am so in love with the lace detailing on this top. I could just stare at it for hours. I’m wearing the Pinstripe Knee Shorts from ETD. I love pinstriped anything, and these are fantastic. I love the little wrinkles on it – they look so real.

My shoes are the Black Patent MaryJane Ballets from boing fromage. These are so incredibly cute and detailed, and they have that shine just like patent leather. My hair is the Bonita II in Smoke from ETD. I just love the look of this hair. My skin is the Vogue Skin in Cashmere (Spring – Fresh) from Celestial Studios. I did get off my butt and fitted the lashes to my avie, so now I’m wearing the lashes from the Vogue Skins.

I never said I wasn’t a slacker (hee hee). In my defense, two days of an extremely frustrating lack of an internet connection doesn’t help. So much shopping to catch up on….This outfit started with the Wanna Flow Top from tres blah. This is a gorgeous top – I love how flowy it looks. I just want to pet it. I’ve been trying to find a jacket and babydoll top combo that I love, and I think I found it. The jacket is from the Swan Song Outfit from silentsparrow. I love all the items in the outfit, but the jacket is probably my favorite. I love the little swans on the back and the cut of the jacket. I’m wearing the recently released Ingenue Jeans in Dark from LF Fashions. I’m so happy there are more prim leg attachments on pants now. I love the pockets on these jeans.

 

My shoes are an absolutely amazing freebie from Lassitude & Ennui. They are the Signature Sandals in Black & Gold. There are also brown and white ones available, and in each set, there are gold and silver hardware options. There are some truly amazing freebies out there. My bracelet, the Love Conquers All Bracelet in Gold & Moonstones, is also from Lassitude & Ennui. The bracelet has the words “amor vincit omnia”, Latin for “love conquers all”. I love that the bracelet is simple, yet beautifully constructed.

 

My hair is the Med Wavy hair in Cinder from AVEDA Institutes. I’m so happy that AVEDA is in SL and that Elika did hair for them. I love their products particularly their rosemary mint shampoo and toning mist. Cinder is like Smoke, so I’m super happy. I love how natural this hair feels (although MY hair would never naturally do this without a team of professionals following me all day long). It has a very soft look to it. I just adore it. My skin is the Vogue Skin in Cashmere (Spring – Fresh) from Celestial Studios. I love all of the new spring skins and am so happy to hear that there will be more seasonal skins in the future. I usually don’t go red very often, but the makeup is amazing. It is a very fresh look and I love it. Starley said the inspiration for the lips was Vincent Longo’s Cherry Lipstain. She brought it perfectly to SL. All the spring skins have blush, too! I can’t articulate how much I love this skin. I was a little lazy to fit the eyelashes to my avie, so I’m wearing the ones from my Deviant Nation – Vogue Skins (although I do love ‘em, too).

 

My avie might look particularly glowy (well, Vogue skins do have the glowy goodness) thanks to the Perfect Image Glow by Aradia Dielli. I saw this in pictures on Ana Lutetia’s blog and thought it was awesome for taking pictures. I found this at a store called Lucian Overload, but I don’t think she has a main store yet. From reading the notecard that came with it, she also has them available at Lovey’s Boutique locations.
