Ok I needed some color stat.. it really cheers me up. So of course I reached for pink, it just so happens 2 of the pieces I have on were also bought for good causes.

I started with the top from the sweetheart dress from Alyssum Therian of Love, Aly. I have known Aly for a while now in sl and we have even met up once in Vegas.. (what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas right?) So I know she has one of the biggest hearts around. Well besides being an adorable outfit, she is donating the profits from the dress to a friend of hers in rl who’s daughter is sick. You can get the story here  http://forums.secondlife.com/showthread.php?t=205547  The dress was actually made for a girl, but it fits any avie just fine and I think she has added an adult size prim skirt. I also pulled the pearl bracelet out of this outfit because it is so cute with the little heart on it.

When I was getting this she showed me another outfit of hers and it had a great belt on it so I begged and begged for her to release them separately and in a couple different places. She thought that was a good idea too, so now she has released them in a few colors and they all come on jacket and shirt layer and in 4 different positions. You know how hard it is to find belts and pink belts??? so I’m in love with this one.

My skirt is from the Pink Speckle Mini outfit from Jolie’s boutique, she is also having a big sale to help out with a big move in rl. Jolie has been designing I think since I  started sl and always has some cute dresses so you should go by for the 1/2 off sale and do your good deed for the day while saving a few lindens.

I wanted a top for under the shirt so I picked the Poppin’ It top in Teal from Savvy?, these tops are great I love the buttons on the back of them. To go with the top I put on my preppy stripes (blue green) tights from Frustrated Inc. Someone told me about these Crisis Pumps from Tekilah Elytis and I would have never found them otherwise. She has a small store but these are probably my most favorite pumps I have ever bought in sl and they change to tons of colors and a few textures.

I kept my jewelry pretty simple and just put on the charm medallion necklace from Miam Miam, this necklace is so neat with all the different charms. My earrings are the pink plastic earrings from Shiny Things and you know by now these are my favorites. On my left arm I put on one of the lulu jellies from Celestial Studios, these were a group freebie back in December so they are no longer available.

My skin is one of the new Vogue skins with Canimal’s Glow makeup on it. This one is the purple glow and the colors on these are so beautiful. This hair is the debutante also from Celestial Studios and this bow is so great!!

I’m sorry I’ve been gone so long I’m slowly resting up enough so it might still take me a few more days before my next post.

Quick Update

Hi guys, I know it’s annoying when bloggers disappear and then post up some lame comment saying they are busy etc and will try to post soon. It is now my turn to post one of those except I’m not busy. I am having troubles with my back again and I have been resting everyday this week and haven’t been able to log into the computer for more than 30 min at a time. I am going to try and log in tomorrow and get something up.

I’m sure I’ve missed 900 great things and my shopping is going to be way behind. I also missed some comments, but I have been thinking about future events and how to work in some of your ideas so maybe this will be a good thing. Well I miss you guys and I’ll try to come back as soon as I can. As soon as Toneless gives me permission to leave the couch that is, he seems to think I’m bad at resting…

8-21-07 Event winner Kyrinnia

While perusing Fashion Planet as I am wont to do I saw that super cool blog Closet Crisis was having another fashion event. Well being the fashion diva I am I had to go.

When I got there I was looking fabulous as was everyone else but looking at the outfits the other girls had put together I looked just a little too matchy matchy put together if you know what I mean.  So I raced home and changed into a silly little harajuku style outfit I had been wearing for a few days and zoomed back.

The outfit is all about looking cute and rocking the accessories. It's head to toe adorableness. What makes the outfit is all of the accessories put together without all of them it just wouldn't be the same.  A special touch on my part was wearing the footstep bangles to add the illusion the hoof boots were making clopping sounds. 
All in all the event was really fun, and everyone was so nice, so be sure to come out the next time there's an event.

8-21-07 Event Recap

I know… it’s been much too long for me to have taken for this recap. I apologise but I hope all the great outfits make up for it. This event we decided that to make it even more chaotic we would attempt to use voice ha. It was really fun but some of us could hear an d some couldn’t so we ended up typing a lot too.

We had a smaller turnout than the last few times but I blame that on the short notice next time I will try and give better notice so that everyone can make it. We also had people just watching and I only badgered some of them into going up and talking about their outfits. Ok only Alla and Frank but really I didn’t have to badger them that much. For some reason the only picture we took of Alla was of her standing on elka’s shoulders so that’s the one I used below.

You really are missing out on some hilarious stuff even if you don’t want to compete we are all pretty goofy and we make sure it’s a welcoming environment.I also had a few people that were worried about coming late, I wanted to clarify that as long as we haven’t started the voting process between the judges feel free to come to the event. I have no problem adding someone into the lineup.

I also want to thank everyone for always being so understanding and patient with us I know it’s usually chaos but I can only hope its as much fun for you as it is for us.

Also we had Van guest judge with us and he did a great job. I also invited along Sparkle Skye of Allure to guest judge and she graciously donated a 250L gift certificate for our winner to her store located at ImagineNation 209, 199, 23 She makes beautiful items and if you haven’t been you should definately check it out.

Now on to the important stuff… Our 3 finalists this time were: Anhayla lycia, elka Lehane and Kyrinnia Desmoulins! Congrats to all 3 of them they all looked fabulous.  And the winner was……. Kyrinnia!!

Whew! I’ve been on a shopping marathon lately. I think I’m halfway through my list. This outfit is actually from yesterday, but I got around to posting it now. I don’t usually go for short skirts, but given that this one is from boing fromage (one of my all time favorite stores, as if you couldn’t already tell), I just had to wear it. I love the atypical color combo and the hint of a print. All the pleats and the subtle sheerness of the chiffon are so gorgeous. I’m wearing the Knitted Sweater in Yellow from Nylon Outfitters. This is such a supercute sweater. I love the delicate pointelle and the way the collar lies for the hood. The wonderfully large button is a plus for me as I love button details. Under the sweater, I’m wearing the Dotalicious Halter in Army/Sun from Sand Shack Surf Couture. I love the color combo and the lace details. As a fellow klutz, I totally relate to Emma’s situation. I think the sale & fundraiser are still going on.

 

I knew I wanted a tights & boots combo with this outfit. I went with the Pointelle Leggings in Tan from KENZIE. The subtle striped texture is really cute, and I thought it went well with the sweater and boots. I tinted them a darker brown color. My boots are the Old Boots in Brown from Shiny Things. Plain and simple, I just love these boots. The texture is gorgeous.

 

Ok, I was a total dumba** and was in such a rush to post that I forgot to talk about my jewelry (Sorry, Lucas!!!). I have nothing but absolute love for EARTHTONES Boutique. I blame it all on lack of sleep.  How embarrassing….The necklace I’m wearing is the Heirloom Locket from EARTHTONES Boutique. The detail of the prim work is just gorgeous. I think I have it set to plum & brown. My ring is the Whisper Ring in Multi/Gold also from EARTHTONES Boutique. I have it set to plum. I love that the ring is simple, yet still detailed. Both pieces are on sale until August 23^rd.

 

My hair is Naomi in Smoke from ETD. I love the long, messy pieces in the front. My skin is the Vogue Skin in Amber (Summer – 3) Freckled from Celestial Studios. I love all the freckles. I think they’re just so cute.

8-18-07 Closet Crisis Event!

I have had many requests for another event and to be honest the reason I hadn’t been scheduling them was it’s so hard to get 2 or 3 of us together these days. Also our past winner Van has a very busy work schedule. I think most of us can make it to the event tomorrow and I appolgize for the late notice. I’m still not positive Van can make it but if he gets back to me and can’t we’ll just invite him to the guest judge the next one.

Just like last time bring your notecards and your lovely selves. Then when you walk the runway just tell us a little about what inspired the outfit and we’ll have your card given out so that people can purchase your great finds for themselves. We will decide on 3 finalists and then leave it up to you the audience to vote for their favorite.

Hi! I’m back for now. Right when I was starting to get the hang of things (and actually getting some sleep, too), my bf’s grandma ended up in the hospital again. Nothing major. She was dehydrated and nauseous from one of the many antibiotics she’s been taking (she’s been fighting a urinary tract infection since the last time she was in the hospital). I’d be pukey too if I had to pop that many pills. So, that’s where I am now. On to the outfit (hee, it’s been so long)….I started with the Jersey Girl Pants from Veschi. I instantly fell in love with these the moment I saw them on the Fashion World feed (you can’t even imagine how big of a shopping list I have). The wrinkling at the waist is superb. I love the drape of the pant legs and the flower adornment is so cute. These pants are just too cute! I wanted a simple top that still had some interest, so I went with the Fererra Top from the Fererra Outfit from artilleri. I love the v-neck on the back of the shirt. It gives the shirt a nice oomph.

 

I wanted some simple pointy shoes and had just rediscovered the Essential Charcoal/White Stilettos (3^rd Series) from Sylfie’s Prim Seduction, so it was perfect. I love the simplicity of these shoes, but they still have a great amount of detail. I threw on the Fishnet Socks in Black from the Corinne Outfit from artilleri to add some extra interest to the outfit. My necklace is the Cameo & Sautoir from boing fromage. This necklace is a classic to me. I love all the detail in theis necklace. The way the beads are draped look so natural, and I love the cute little bow in the back. The size of the cameo is just right for me – it’s big enough that you can see it, but it’s not overpowering.

 

My hair & hat combo is Jaunty from Winter Moon. I’m so excited because this hat is so cute. I love the little buckle, and there’s even a little feather tucked into the band on the side. I’m also super happy that the hair comes in this softer black color as I am particularly fond of that hair color. My skin is the Goldie Skin in Medium from Karamia. All that glowy goodness around the eyes is just so gorgeous (lol, lots of g’s in that sentence).

I was feeling girly today so I started with the top from the Sweetheart dress in Pink Sugar from Sparkle Skye of Allure. I really love this dress its so pretty and girly and as you can see it has great wrinkles on the texture. I wanted to add a little something extra to the top so I added the Reluctant Seductress white top in white from Casa del Shai. She has provided this on the undershirt layer so it works nicely. I know that I’ve blogged the skirts from Zagoskin and just recently I bought a 5 pack for 400L so I thought this white Kala skirt matches perfectly. I figured out that I can dye the belt and buckle so that makes it even better.

The pink sating ballet slippers also from Sparkle Skye of Allure match the top because she uses the same colors in all her outfits so they were a natural choice. These are the shoes I wish I could wear in rl if only I didn’t hate my ankles (I know we all have something). My lovely Violet made me this beautiful crown necklace and then named it the Hethr necklace in my honor. I think maybe this is because I kept hounding her to finish it but aren’t you all happy I did??? It’s so darling.

I chose the mad about diamond dewdrop earrings in white because I think they are a simple but classic design. These could have been a freebie from fash con but I also think I bought them… I’m not positive either way you can pick up a pair in her shop. I really loved the Josephine blue cameo ring from Caroline Apollo but it comes on the left hand so I just moved it over to the right. It came in a pack with 3 colors and is really lovely. Believe it or not those great pearl bracelets I’m wearing came from a freebie pack at Sh*t Happens at the Lame shopping mall. One is tinted pink and one is tinted white I think they were made just for me and you can’t beat free!

Somehow I have never bought a Deviant Kitties hair from Helyanwe Vindaloo but the other night Violet and Kaela took me to a sale she was having. I think I bought 6 hairs on my first run through!! I have no idea why they were hiding her from me but I really liked this Sammy hair and actually Kaela took one look and said oh thats a hair for you so I bought it. It’s sorta piecy and messed up with cute braids. For my makeup I went with the Peach (Mid) Vogue skin from Celestial Studios. I have always liked this lipcolor and I”m happy anytime it matches an outfit I’m wearing.

I wanted to say thank you to the people that participated in our yardsale. I hope next time that second life will be better behaved so maybe we’ll have some more people cleaning out their inventories.

8-12-07 Yardsale Event!

Don’t forget about the yardsale today at Noon sl time. I know second life has been very bad this week but I was able to just barely get about 50 things ready to sell and I will be putting them out continually as other things sell. I hope that you all have some things ready too!

I have set up little barriers and it’s first come first serve also I will add to fit as long as the island allows it. Please make sure your items are boxed up and photos are always nice, we will be limiting you to 15 prims out at a time so yes if you sell stuff you can drop more. Just a tip when pricing your items please remember it’s a yard sale and I can’t tell you what to charge, but think about the yard sales you’ve been to in rl and price accordingly.

I am counting on everyone to be responsible and not to sell freebies, copyable items or their own creations. If I see these items I will have to return them to your inventory and you will be given a warning. Also please only sell fashion related items no cars/houses/furniture etc. I think this could be great fun as long as people are respectful of the rules and each other.

I’m not sure if it’s like this where you live but here every weekend I see huge yard sales all over. This got me thinking thats it’s high time I do another yard sale and wouldn’t it be fun if we could do a group yard sale. So we’re opening up the island this Sunday and we welcome you to bring your old clothes, shoes, hair/skin, jewelry and other fashion items to sell. This is the first time I’m organizing one of these on a large scale so I hope everyone can use their common sense and common courtesy to make it a nice fun event.

I will be setting up little barriers and it’s first come first serve also I will add to fit as long as the island allows it. Please make sure your items are boxed up and photos are always nice, we will be limiting you to 15 prims out at a time so yes if you sell stuff you can drop more. I know I’ll be going thru my huge inventory and cleaning out some stuff I don’t wear very often so you could find some nice treasures. Just a tip when pricing your items please remember it’s a yard sale and I can’t tell you what to charge, but think about the yard sales you’ve been to in rl and price accordingly.

I just got a promotion at work so maybe that was making me feel businessy, either way I decided that to start with the Regina Mean Business skirt from Savvy?. I love how Dakota does her systems skirts she knows the exact way to shade the wrinkles and the good lengths. I took some time finding a matching jacket because this shade of blue was hard to get exactly right. Eventually I found the Granny Cardigan in true blue from Frustrated Inc. These sweaters get a lot of wear from me, I have them in like 5 colors.

I wanted my top to make the outfit seem more fun without taking away all the business aspects so I chose the citrus chic apple tank from Punk Drunk. I think these little apples are so cute. Another hard part was finding shoes, I must have tried on 20 pairs before I remembered these free navy blue heels from Sylfie that I picked up for free in her shop. It’s one of the best freebies out there she does classic wonderful heels.

My necklace is the boho gypsy necklace from Earthtones Boutique, this came out with a bunch of other lovely wood jewelry and I like all the wood colors and the different lengths. I actually found my cluster earrings on Alla’s ears when she was at one of our events and then had to check out Girl Props. There are some really nice accessories there so I’m glad that I found it. I love seeing what you guys wear to our events and finding all the new stores!

On my left arm I’m wearing the ethnic wood bangle and on my right arm I have the aurora bloom stack both from Earthtones boutique. They both use bright vivid colors really well.  A few days ago someone asked in one of the fashion groups for a diamond ring so big it was like a ring pop. Someone answered that there was one at Idoru Jewelry and so of course being a jewelry freak I had to check it out. They did have a ring called “absolutely huge diamond ring” that looks just like a ring pop. I was so delighted I had to get one right away!

This hair is the Bjork style in blonde from Aden, I love the little buns with the hair poking out the tops. I chose the Celestial– Ethereal Deviant Nation Vogue Skin because of the great smoky blue eyes. I almost forgot that I”m wearing the seamed hose set from Battered Boutique. These come in a pack with quite a few other colors even a white pair you can tint. I think they are a nice alternative to my usual tights (not that I’m giving those up).

This outfit all started with these kick a$$ boots from Digital Dragon Designs. It took me so long to decide which pair to get (they all have different little prim “charms”? on them). I finally decided on the Scorned Boots, with the skull and crossbones. I decided I needed some great socks to go with the boots, so I scrounged through my little socky folder and found these sweet Atomic striped socks from EtchD tucked away. I haven’t had the chance to wear these yet (not to mention I forgot I even had them) and was uber excited when I saw how great they looked with the boots. There’s even a little prim skull and crossbones “pin” on the “slouchy” part of the stocking (although you can’t really see it in the picture L)

 

Since there is some pink in the socks, I chose this Trixie Tank from Celestial Studios…not only did the pink match, but I love that you can “tuck” these in. Over the tank, I threw on this great Granny Cardigan from FINC. I like the mid length of this sweater and the “knitting” detail looks great! I knew that I wanted to wear a short skirt, cause I didn’t want my socks covered…I searched just the prim part of my skirts and found this cute little lace flexi mini with bows on the side from Digital Knickers, but instead of wearing the “pants” layer with it, I put on the pants layer from Wrong’s Sobriety Mini instead.

 

The hair was a no brainer and I immediately went to the Zombie Dreads by Gritty Kitty…to me it just went perfectly.  I chose the “Sprite” bracelets from Legend, and this “True Love” necklace from Goth1co. Since I had on pink, I chose the “Aradia” skin from Lovey’s Boutique.

I think I have officially given up trying to figure out my inventory. Today I just randomly opened up a folder and found this cute Flower Power skirt from Angel Sienkiewicz. I have tried the lm in the outfit folder and searched her name and I can’t seem to find her shop. I left her an IM so if she send me a lm I’ll update this entry. I still wanted to keep the skirt though because I like the pattern and the little yellow polka dot Crinoline underneath the skirt.

I wanted to wear the white classy vest from Indie’s House of Flesh because it matches the new Devyn hair/hat from Celestial studios perfectly. I think I heard this is supposed to be a mens hairstyle but it looks much too cute on me to pass up. My shirt is the blue octopuss shirt from Sh*t Happens and it was only 10L! She has a whole wall of cheap stuff (cheap pricing definately not cheap quality) so you should check it out for sure.

I have these button wedge shoes from Veschi in a couple of colors and on all of them the little button changes colors. She put like 100 colors in the script so they really will match any outfit. My cake necklace is one that Violet Voltaire made (yes our own Violet) she is learning to make these in rl so I can’t wait for my real one!!

These cute Bareket earrings from Canimal came in 3 colors and they are all bright and shiny. Of course I have on my bangles, on my left hand is the flat wood puau shell bracelet from Earthtones Boutique and on my right is the jungle Jane bracelet stack from Frustrated Inc. They have this style in lots of colors. I also added my blue morpho butterfly assist ring from Caroline Apollo because I like that shade of blue a lot.

I went with the Deviant Nation Excess Overdose Vogue skin from Celestial Studios and I know I wear this one alot but I think the makeup really suits my face.

We are still having some scheduling difficulties getting us all together for an event. I was thinking of having a different sort of event next weekend so that we can make sure Van is able to judge our next runway event. Does anyone have any ideas?  I have a few, but I was just wondering what you all would be interested in doing. Thanks for any suggestions, I just really have fun when we all get together.
