I started with the Midnight Party Tunic from boing fromage. Pretty much anytime there’s something new from boing fromage, it’s a very good day for me. This is such a cute dress, and I love the black & blue combo. I knew I wanted leggings of some sort and went with the Shiny Shiny Magic Pants from Fashionably Dead. They’re tintable, hence the magic. My jacket is the bolero from the In Dreams Outfit from SugarCube. It’s perfect for layering because it’s tintable and opens up at the bottom. I went on a search for a belt of some sort, and found the Underbust Corset in Fuchsia Glitter from OH! WHAT A NEAT… BOUTIQUE buried deep in my inventory. This color happened by chance. I was trying on every color of the corset that I had, and the fuchsia just really stood out. 

 

My shoes are the Sculpted Ballet Flats in Black from Sand Shack Surf Co. These are cute as a button (haha, I couldn’t resist). The flats have really cute buttons on them (I have a thing for buttons). There are buttonless versions (for you non-button lovers – boo on you) and a ton of colors. I’m wearing the lucky heart necklace from artilleri! I love this necklace! It’s so cute and detailed. I noticed the extent of the detail when I saw the little charm at the back of the necklace. I love those little details like this or the clasp on a necklace or the bottom of a shoe. It’s those little things that you don’t normally look at, but when you do, you can see that the entire piece was a labor of love. Ok, I’m rambling…..My bracelet is the Maya Bracelet in Ocean/Silver from EARTHTONES Boutique (another place that has those great little details). The shapes of the stones look so natural and realistic. I love the textures on the Maya collection because of the subtle color variations.

 

My hair is the Europa hair in Rough Black from Cake. I officially love this hair. I especially love it with the FD skins. I’m wearing the Medium Skin in Harp Classical Tragedy. After a tweaking of the nose, I finally feel like I’ve found my shape for this skin. I really love that little indentation just below the bottom lip and a light dusting of freckles is always a plus for me.

 

Ok, so I really shouldn’t write when I’m tired. I’ve been waking up at the buttcrack and have been getting tired really early the past couple of days.

Congratulations to Ai Baroque!

Hello everyone! My name is Ai Baroque and if you're reading this, it means my submission has been picked!!! *faints* I usually like to wear casual yet a bit "aggressive" outfits and this is one of my favourites. The jacket comes from BettiePage Voyager, a designer which is becoming very known lately for her lovely and quite cheap creations. The jacket, in fact, only costs 100L$, which, I think, is a fair price. It comes on jacket, shirt and undershirt layer, and this allowed me to match it with the belt, worn as jacket layer, that comes with the Santa Maria outfit of Paper Couture. How can you be aggressive without a pair of leather pants? These ones come from Goth1c0, they're very well made and, very important, they're low waist! This way my belly tattoos (artilleri) can be seen too! The shoes come from the Hannover outfit by Gurl 6. You can't see it because of the pants, but they're knee-high boots, perfect to match a lot of skirts too! As accessories I used a pretty black pearl necklace from Bonita and arm warmers from Kana-Na, and the upper tattoo is from artilleri too. Ah, hair comes from maitreya, AND (very important for us girls!) they come with and without facial glow. This way your face will look pretty and you'll have free attachment points on your face for jewellery and accessories!

Congratulations, Sweetee Swindlehurst!

My outfit was inspired by the colours of Autumn (even though it’s the middle of spring here in Oz!).  The fabulous serenity’s leggings from corduroy were my starting point – such great combinations of colours in the pack.  I’m partial to a good shorts and boots combo  so I put on the Gaucho Shorts from the Satin Corset Jumpsuit outfit from G.L.A.M. with my favourite staple boots – Pinson in black from Enkythings (the first pair of shoes I ever bought in SL and still my fave!).  I wanted to wear a nice bright cheery colour on top (I wear far too much black!) and thought of orange while I was on a Halloween treasure hunt last week (pumpkins everywhere!).  I remembered that I had the Bubble Shirt in orange from one of my absolute favourite stores – Veschi.  The top comes on the jacket layer so I went shopping for something to wear underneath and stumbled across the most beautiful dress at BP*  I am wearing the top from the Cotton dress 2.  The lacy detail on this frock is just stunning and very feminine.  Just for an added splash of colour, I put on the tintable ladybeater lace cami from Camie Cooper underneath.

 

After having lived in Paris for a year I am addicted to berets so was happy to find this one as part of the Career Funk outfit from Veschi – it’s colour change so I get to wear it with heaps of outfits.  My hair is Ariadne in black from Philotic Energy – it rarely leaves my head! – I just love the wispy bits over the face. It’s the sort of hairstyle I’d love to have in RL but could never quite pull it off with my curls.  My skin is Roleplay in Pearl from Nylon Outfitters.  Of all the skins I have, I still like this one the very best.  I love the slight shine across the nose and the eye makeup matches the colours I’m wearing just perfectly.

 

My shape is my own – still tweaking it a little because I suspect that I am about 6 foot 5!

My persistence has finally paid off. For days, I have been putting on this hair and trying to put together an outfit that I’m happy with. It’s not the hair’s fault; I was just particular about the look that I wanted with the hair. I suppose the overall look that I was trying to achieve was a semi-casual look with a mix of modern and vintage details and a contrast of feminine and masculine elements. The hair is the Amelieish Hair in Black from Hiccup. When I first saw this hair, I loved it but thought my avie would never be able to pull it off. To my surprise, I think it worked with my avie. I love that the bangs have a softer line thanks to the fringy cut. The color is great because it’s a softer black that allows the definition to show through and has a hint of shine.

 

I’m wearing the Damsel Top in Classy from Fashionably Dead. There’s a bunch of really cute color combos in the set. I think the lace trim is just gorgeous and I love the antique look of it. I love FD’s tops, but many are on the jacket layer which can be challenging when making outfits. I layered it over the Trixie Hoodie in Nightfall from Celestial Studios. This top comes in a bunch of layers and has a really cute hood attachment with the little strings. The pants are the Buttoned Trousers in Black with Black Buttons from GLAM. These have “wide leg” attachments, and in combination with the looser pants, it does a pretty good job at recreating the look of a wide leg pant in SL. I can’t wait until the day when there are true wide leg pants in SL. There are different versions of the pants in the set with different colored buttons. I can’t remember exactly which colors, but it really does open up the possibilities for outfits.

 

The necklace is the Full Prim Beaded Necklace in Black from Swallowtail Designs. I love the organic look of this necklace and the subtle color variations of the beads. I really like how the shape of the necklace mimics the almost leaf-like pattern of the lace of the Damsel top.  I’m also wearing the Tri-Color Deco Wood Bangle from EARTHTONES Boutique. I love the pattern and the rich, dark colors of this bangle.

 

My skin is the Vogue Skin in Amber (Fall – 3) from Celestial Studios. I love the green eyeliner on the bottom. It’s subtle yet creates such a different look. The color of the lip gloss is probably one of my favorites as of yet.

Congrats to Sariella!

 

 

My outfit was inspired by a class theme I recently had for my modeling agency:  Bohemian.  I got the inspiration for that from a fashion magazine article I had read.  I knew I wanted layers and definately wanted the dress over the jeans look.  So I started with the jeans from Pixel Dolls, as they come in the underwear layer, making it easy to make an outfit like this!

 

Next, I added the dress from Canimal, I found hidden in my inventory.  I wanted a shrug or jacket of some sort, so this shrug from Canimal was perfect.  I started out with different boots, but wanted some cowboy boots, so went to Nevermore to pick those up.

 

The necklace I had from another Closet Crisis outfit I'd put together and I love it and the shop, Boing Fromage...so had to incorporate that!  The bracelets and bag are both from Shiny Things...I searched for a while for some great Boho-feel accessories, and those fit what I was looking for, also adding some extra color to the outfit.

 

Finally, the prim nails are from Armidi...and I wear their nails all the time now!!  They're the next best thing to prim lashes in my opinion (mine are from Cake, by the way)!  I love the skins at Pixel Deep and don't usually wear them as they're so different from my normal look, so I love any chance I have to wear them.  My shape is from Body Doubles Shapes but is highly modified.  I had a lot of fun putting this outfit together!!

Yay, more plaid! I started with the Plaid Wool Peacoat in Blue from [miw]. There’s a bunch of colors in the set. The sleeves are a tad longer thanks to the ribbed cuffs being on the glove layer. Nice touch! I love the hand-drawn look and the richness of the blue color. The contrast seams, buttons and button holes are also nice details. I’ve been waiting a long time to incorporate the Poofy Khaki Shorts from Veschi into an outfit. I think Alla Ruff is the queen of the poofy clothes. I think these shorts are so cute and unlike any other pair of shorts I have seen in SL. I just really wish that these came in more colors. I’m wearing the Ribbed Tights in Brown from Tete a Pied. These have a slight sheerness which makes them look awesome.

 

My shoes are the Tatienne Boots in Black from Last Call. I have no idea how I missed the release of these, but I’m so happy that I have them now. These are so great because they’re not too busy from the front view, but still have those details that make them different. I’m not sure why they look rounder in my pictures, but they have a pointy toe. The necklace is the Single Strand Tintable Bead Necklace from Kitty’s Rampage. I stretched it out quite a bit to make it longer and tucked it under the scarf. I couldn’t find Kitty’s Rampage anywhere, and in Kitty Minogue’s profile, it said that Kitty’s Rampage was coming soon. So, for now it’s not available. My scarf is the Denial of Autumn Scarf from Kyoot Army. I love that the scarf ends are in the back because the boobs usually get in the way. The little buttons and straps give the scarf a bit more interest.

 

My hair and hat combo is the Janine Hair in Smoke from ETD. I love hats, and this one is fantastic because it is color change and texture change (solid tweed or a tonal-striped tweed). I love that the brim of the hat isn’t perfectly smooth which gives it a worn in look. The ponytail has that nice-messy look. My skin is the Vogue Skin in Amber (Fall – 4) from Celestial Studios. I think this one’s my favorite at the moment.

 

No special brushes were used. I got a tablet so I’m having fun with it.

This outfit turned out to be a spin on a little black dress. Initially I was going to go with a white button up with oversized cuffs, but I veered off course and am happy I did. I usually don’t wear dressier outfits, but maybe after this one, I just might do more. I started with the Plaid Skirt in Green from First Impressions. I love the look of this skirt. A sheer overlay with the plaid is an unexpected combo. The plaid pencil skirt underneath is on the skirt layer and can be worn by itself. The top is the Lacy Vest from the Janet Outfit from Last Call. I love the little bit of lace and the way the super deep v-neckline elongates the torso. To top it off, I went for the Wilted Wednesday Vest from Kyoot Army. This jacket is so cute and fun.

 

My shoes are the Vidalia Pumps in Metallic Noir from Armidi. These shoes are beautiful! They have a sleek shape and a substantial heel. I’m wearing the Princess Ring from Paper Couture. This was part of the gorgeous jewelry that was exclusive to the Jewelry Expo. I love the simple, yet detailed design.

 

My hair is the Short Crop 2 in Cinder from the AVEDA Institutes. The bangs on this hair are super sexy. I love the little wisps of hair around the face. My skin is the Deviant Nation Vogue Skin in Cashmere (Karma – Destiny) from Last Call. I love how this makeup looks with the hair.

You know I get into my pink cutesy moods occasionally (ok every other day) and today was one of those.

I started with the Jawbreaker skirt from Canimal in purple because i like the little pleats and for a short skirt I think it doesn’t feel too short. Over there I put on the Cassie (belted long top) from Tuli I bought this dress pack a while ago and have just been waiting for the right outfit to wear it with. It has the most darling polka dot bow and comes with the top in 4 styles/lengths. I think this one with its cute heart belt goes best with the skirt.

Under this I put the Francoise dress top in neige (which means white I’m 99% sure) from Bossa Nova, she sent this color exclusively to the group but I think it’s still available in notices if you join. Which you should because she is always giving out exclusive colors to her group members. I tried on lots of tights before deciding that bare legs with my cream stiletto boots from Slink were the best choice.

My necklace is the nicola blue cameo locket in gold from Caroline Apollo, she also made the dainty little free spirit ring I'm wearing. I took a close up picture of it so you can see the great detailing.  On my left arm I’m wearing the Lumina set bracelet in aurora/silver from Earthtones this is another of his beautiful sets and you can see from the photo on the top upper right just how pretty the blue stones are.

On the top lower right you can see a close up of my right bracelet from Cailyn Miller called Callia Bangle. I have these bangles in a few colors/metal styles because I really like the deign of this. My earrings are the bent metal hoop earrings from Paper Couture and they are a great staple for any wardrobe.

I really like most of the Artilleri hairs on other people but for some reason some of them don’t seem to work with my face so I was so happy when I tried on Myst in light blonde because it is such a cute little updo. I think the bangs are very well done and actually the whole thing is!  I’m also wearing one of the skins I picked up at Starleys big skin sale the other week at Celestial Studios, this is the Summer 2 from the summer series I love the pretty shimmery face and cheeks.

Congratulations to this weeks guest submitter Marissa Goodliffe! I also thank all the girls who sent in entries and I will be holding on to all of them to use in future weeks or you are always welcome to submit again this week. Thank you again I hope you all had as much fun doing this as I’ve had reading them!

 I started the outfit when my good friend Darklour Watanabe
dropped me a box filled with all the skirts he has made for his Neko
Gear store.This is in no way a cheap plug for him, I just love the
skirts, the 3 layers all with a different flexi tension set, so they
poof nice when dancing. My favorite is the Chocolate and Cream
tartan. I have worn this to death already.  I matched it up with  the
Zipped Sweater  from Naughty Island, in Cocoa color, I love the
coziness of it.
      For a touch of color underneath I added a Freebie from the
PixelDolls  Freebie Box collection. The colors add a bit of softness
to the  sweater edge. The hair to pair up with this was a no brainer
for me. I have on the Amber hair from ETD, the attached knit cap part
is scripted to color change, one of the colors being a rich brown,
perfect for an Autumn look.
     The boots are the Chocolate Melisande boots from the LC Vamp
collection, which I am sure everybody has at least one pair of by
now.  If you don't, what's keeping you? The boots pictured are the
Chocolate tone (see a theme going here?) I added a warm pair of socks
as well, the Camel  wool socks from Shiny Things. Again, just adds a
touch of color to the edge to make the look more finished.
     For jewelry I chose the Boho Gypsy necklace from Earthtones,
the texturing in the beads picks up the cable texture of the sweater
perfectly. The earrings are the Figured Wood, also has the same
beading  as the necklace. With the size of the necklace, I opted to
not add any bracelets, the sweater coverage on the wrists is enough,
I don't care for over powering jewelry usually. The rings are
personal everyday jewelry for me, wedding band on the left,
Anniversary ring on the right, both from Ramos Jewelry. Also wearing
the Pinkaboo manicure from Nevermore Studios.

I really loved the combination of colors and patterns in the Floral Babydoll Dress in Natural from ETD, but I felt like wearing pants so I shortened the prims to turn it into a top. I love the shading on this, and the fabric looks so touchable. I’m digging the belts from Armidi and was super happy to see the Courtney Buckled Belt came in yellow. I really like the solid color and the asymmetrical look. I’m wearing the Crocheted Shrug in Dark Brown from MG Fashions. This shrug comes in so many different colors. I opted to not wear the prim blouson sleeves because of the volume of the babydoll top. I really love the openness of this shrug, and the cable knit texture makes it a classic for me. My jeans are the Worn Jeans from the Tatienne Outfit from Last Call. I’m wearing the slouchy leg prim option. I love the pocket detailing and the denim texture.

 

My shoes are the Chloe Flats in Moss from Lassitude and Ennui. I love these shoes! They’re flat, pointy-toed and versatile. I can’t ask for anything more. My necklace is the Bubblegum Pearls (Tintable) Necklace from Decollage. I love almost anything tintable, and the smaller beads add a little more interest to the necklace.

 

I know everyone and their grandma has worn this hair, but I think it’s for a good reason. It’s so cute! The Europa hair in Rough Black from Cake has that perfectly messy look. My skin is the Vogue Skin in Amber (Fall – 4) from Celestial Studios. I love the chilly cheeks and the depth of the lip color.

Today’s outfit is just one that sort of just evolved after buying these pants. I found these grey jean shorts from Dutch Touch, and really liked the cuffed legs, and the “worn out” look they have. These jeans have such a nice dark charcoal coloring to them, which makes them easy to mix and match. I tried on a few sweaters (because the weather here irl is getting cooler for me) and chose the granny cardigan in black smack, from Frustrated Inc…I love the knitted look of this sweater, the ¾ sleeves, and the shading on the front that gives it an almost realistic look.

 

I searched through my inventory for a hat (because I’ve been in a hat mood lately) and came upon the Knitted Dragon hat from Inspired.  There are a few color choices for the hat, and since I know I have a lot of red in my inventory, I chose the red and black one. (I did tint it a darker shade of red to match my shirt).  I tried on a few shirts, before choosing the Ballerina Shirt in red/black from The New Zero. This shirt looked great with the sweater and the hat, and I absolutely love the “finished” detail on the bottom hem.

 

Since I had shorts on with a sweater, I decided I needed to have some socks too! I chose these ragdoll striped stockings, that came in the Ragdoll Costume from Celestial Studios last Halloween. I had to tint them red to match the outfit, but loved the slight sheerness of the stocking. I went with my Mary Jane flats from Boing Fromage, just because I thought they looked cute.

 

I accessorized a lot more than I usually do with this outfit…I even wore prim eyelashes!! (I have lots of them, but always forget to put them on) These are the MM Catwalk Eyelashes from Minnu Model Skins. My fingernails are the Lulu Manicure, dark red with black tips from Celestial Studios. I chose this “seatbelt” belt from Truth in Cherry blossom, and I finally got the chance to wear the Melodic Atrocity Cuffs in black, from Violet Voltaire.

 

My skin is honey/café from Lovey’s boutique, and my hair is “The Soho” from Armidi Hair in true black.

Would you like to submit your outfits to us?

Hello all,

For a long time now I’ve wanted to allow more people than just us 4 to post. I just haven’t had the the time to put the idea fully into motion. I really love doing the events and the fact that we can then share all your great outfits but between work, family and our 4 schedules events are becoming very hard to do.

So I am finally implementing my idea for you to submit your outfits and blog posts to me. I will choose one a week (it might be more than that if this ends up being less time consuming than I’m thinking) and it will be a great opportunity to share your style with the community. Here are the guidelines:

You must submit either a 512 x512 jpeg photo of you and your outfit photo shopped similar to the style of ours. Or if you aren’t comfortable with photoshop you must submit 3 photos (2 front/side facing and 1 backfacing) on a white background from in world. These should be taken in the daytime and if you need a photo box please head over to the closet crisis headquarters and pick up a free one. Also please use the “Save Snapshot to hard drive” option when taking your photos to reduce the distortion from shrinking them. Here are some examples:

For some reason after I finished the photos on this outfit I realized just who I was channelling. It’s Joanne Woodward from Long Hot Summer, if you don’t know this movie you should watch it just to see Paul Newman. But also I love Joanne Woodwards character and for some reason I can see a more modern version of her wearing this to teach her class. But anyway I might just be wanting to watch that movie again….

I started this outfit with the vintage basics skirt in burgandy (seems more of a deep red to me) from Ingenue. I think most of you know I”m not a huge fan of highwaisted pants but I do love the highwaisted skirts. I bought these in like 3 colors because they are so well done. They also look great without the top part if highwaisted isn’t your thing.

I put on this beatrix shirt in black from Artilleri by accident and then paused and realized it looked great! Sometimes my best outfits happen that way. I was so happy to see the new angelina tops from Second Wave Apparel because they come on all the layers (like all her items) are super cheap and in tons of colors. I am wearing the charcoal one here and they are also modify so I shortened the sleeves to match the shirt. The buttons and ruching on this top are very well done.

I love that its fall because everyone is making great tights and these are the opaque grey ones from Tete a Pied and they have a very nice sheen to them. My shoes are sassy in velvet black from Maitreya and are so cute! I really like the little ankle bows which you can choose not to wear if bows aren’t your thing (although really who doesn’t love BOWS?)

I didn’t want to go to matchy matchy with my jewelry and when I tried on the Repairs necklace in amber from Savvy? I really liked how the orange looked so I decided that would be my jewelry accent color. I added the nouveau earrings in black and mandarin garnet from Miriel and the gunmetal and platinum crossing bracelets from Elexor Matador Jewelry.

This is the Kizzy hair from ETD and it comes on its own with no bangs just like one piece of hair hanging down. I liked how it was with the fringe bangs on me better so I added those. I keep adding these bangs to all my hairs. Because I went with the orange jewelry ,I wanted to go with the Vogue Celestial-Empyrean makeup from Celestial Studios. Doing a dark red lip just seemed a little too much.

Once again I appolgize for disappearing I think it might be hard for me the next couple of weeks my workload doesn’t seem to be going down much at work. I will keep trying to get my posts up as often as I can. Also look out for a poll on when we are going to do the next event sometime in the next couple days. Along with another idea I’m still trying to work out in my head. (yes vague I know you still love me)

Also has anyone else noticed the new “copy slurl to clipboard” button on the map???? It’s a godsend for doing the slurls on here I wish I could hug whichever Linden made that.

Hello All! Sorry for the disappearance, but I had a summer full of must-do’s to attend to in my first life. Now that it’s all over, I can breathe a huge sigh of relief and play.

 

This outfit didn’t really start anywhere. It just sorta evolved into this after wearing my 4 favorite pieces non-stop for a month or so. 

 

My first favorite part of this outfit is these Closer Goggles made by one of my bestest friends Tee.  If the word “Closer” hasn’t popped out, and you don’t recognize them, well then…minus five points for you! They are the goggles Trent Reznor (my imaginary husband) is wearing in the Nine Inch Nails video for Closer (the song he wrote about me)! *fan girl squeal* The goggles come in two different versions, pulled up to wear on top of the head, and one to wear on your eyes. They are amazingly detailed, and have some very awesome textures.

 

The skirt is from Happy Bivouac. When I bought it, I wasn’t sure if it was very me, but I liked the price so I snatched eet. Well once I rezzed it, I realized it came with this fawking kick-ass belt! It’s so damn detailed, and it just makes me so happy to look at. I have a hard time not incorporating it into outfits.

 

One day I realized I didn’t have a lot of jeans. I believe we all know how I feel about ripped jeans so I asked Tee if he knew of any good places. Well he surely did, and took me over to FORM where I picked up these uber ripped up jeans. It’s so cool that they come on two different layers, because I love wearing boots. With most jeans I have to go into appearance mode, and lower the flair on them to make them work with boots. With these I just plop on the underwear layer and go commando. The skirt just accidentally got layered on top. I was gonna put on some fishnets or tights, but ended up liking the look with the ripped jeans.

 

The last piece that I’ve been highly addicted to lately are these boots from L&E…omg these BOOTS! Holy crap, I don’t even know what to say, except uh WOW! I feel like a broken record but uh, awesome textures, and very detailed prim work! There is another version with a Rusted texture, which I’ve been meaning to pick up *makes mental note*

 

The top came together in a really goofy way. I was sifting through my inventory trying to organize, and I saw this folder from Rising Phoenix Designs. I didn’t even remember buying these two outfits, so I plopped it on and was like Oooh! Sweet! The Halter is from the Asylum outfit, and the net part is from another outfit called Fuck Everyone, and I have to agree with that! I thought they went together and fit the bottom part of the outfit so I just stuck with it. The skull elbow warmers are from kyoot, and it comes in a 3pk. It’s a really cute accessory that I highly enjoy adding to outfits.

 

The necklace was bought about a few months back, and I got it cause it was an actual prim heart. It’s the Emotionally Attached necklace from Legend. It’s gruesome, so I naturally love it.

 

The hair is the new Leslie hair from ETD. I knew I wanted to wear piggies, cause piggies rawk, and Elika is so damn good at piggie making, it damn near moves me to tears. I’ve been buying the Elika’s packs from all the new ETD textures, because of the different color choices it contains. I’m usually wearing Obsidian or Blackberry, but “Elika’s Red” went with this outfit better.
