Jewelry Fair 2010- My favorite Pieces from Beauty's Castle Sim

I found quite a few favorites in the Beauty sim. This is the Kennedy Pearl set from Caroline's Jewelry and I think instead she could have called it the Hethr Set. Seriously I adore this. There are lovely necklaces and earrings in white, black or pink pearls. Also a lovely brooch and ring. Very classy!

This is another set from Caroline's Jewelry. The Seasons set come colors representing each season. Winter is my favorite maybe because blue topaz is my birthstone.

This is the first time I have seen the store $GaNKeD$. This collar from the Coveted set also comes with cuffs, but really I just think the collar is amazing.

I was so pleased to see that Alaska Metro had a booth at Jewelry Fair I didn't know she was back in sl again. I showed the adorable free ring she is giving out and this is the necklace that matches. What a unique idea.

Ariella's Heart Set from Miao is really nice. Of course I love hearts you know that but I like when metal is mixed with wood. It is a cute natural looking set.

Also from Miao is the Madeline Pearl Ribbon set. This set is amazing EVERYTHING changes via script : the ribbon, the metal, the big middle stone and the tiny outer stones. Of course I turned it pink :)

Another new store to me is *Amaranthus* they had these cute little earrings as one of their charity items they were also very reasonably priced.

This box locket is also from *Amaranthus* it's pretty neat. I bought it and then realized that it was a special order item. I filled out a notecard with metal color/color and what I wanted inside. I could choose a lock of hair, a picture or a note. I thought the lock of hair was cute so I went with that.

Lastly are these Jellyfish earrings from Star Kindler.  It looks liek the same creator owns both *Amaranthus* and Star Kindler so I will be sure to check both stores out in the future.

Jewelry Fair 2010- My favorite Pieces from the Village Sim

My favorite thing from the Village sim are the Madison Earrings from Iced. I love how fun and light the little feathery parts are and the beads are color change so they are very versatile.

Next up is this I love Autumn set from Primagine. I don't think there is much I can say it screams autumn and of course who doesn't love hearts.

This sweet little necklace is the Gilded Virgin Necklace in Silver from Whippet & Buck. It's simple but really lovely with tiny pearls scattered along the chain.

This bracelet is also out from Whippet and Buck. I got a fatpack of the Diamond and Pearl Bracelet because the price is so reasonable. I really don't think you can beat such a classic style.

Finally this Beads and Bow necklace in Turquoise is from Elemental Earth Designs. I really like how it has a crafty feel to it. It reminds me of a lot of styles I love on Etsy.

Jewelry Fair 2010- My favorite Pieces from Beast's Castle Sim

I think my very favorite set from this sim is the Trinity Set in white satin from Lolapop! You know I love pearls and she modeled this set after a set worn by a Queen in the Trinity Blood anime series and I do indeed feel very queenly in it. It also is available in black pearls but I really love the white. This set is huge with earrings, necklace, two bracelets and two rings.



Another set I really like from Lolapop! is the Dark Beauty Set. This is also available in black or white pearls but I think with it's darker feel the black pearls are perfect. I love the feminine flowers surrounding those little demons. This set is huge with earrings, necklace, two bracelets and two rings.



As you know the theme to this years Jewelry Fair is Beauty and the Beast and really this Rose necklace from Grogo's Gadgets  is a perfect representation of that story. It's a lovely detailed rose under a glass pendant.  There is a faint shimmer to it and it comes with a hud so the rose can be any color you wish.

Finally I couldn't resist these Byzantine Graduated Earrings from LOGO. They are long and have a presence but still manage to be delicate and are color change. I bought the silver set and there was apparently a problem with the script so the creator apologized and sent a fatpack out to those that received the broken one. I think that is excellent customer service so I am sure I'll be checking out more from this shop in the future.

Jewelry Fair 2010- My favorite Freebies from the Village

Ok now the freebies from the Village sim.  Also can I just say how cute the sims are. They are really nicely decorated without being over decorated and the paths are nice and wide. Just a reminder Jewelry Fair ends Oct 17.



There are some really lovely fall colored earrings from Primagine and some gorgeous sort of vintage feeling drop earrings from Faceted.

I always feel like it's so hard to find cute rings and look here are 2 for FREE (or 1L can't remember). The top one is a cute princess style ring from MONKEE and it comes in 5 colors! The bottom ring is from Maylo Designs and comes with a cute little showing off my ring pose.

One last pair of earrings. I really love these they are from EVICA the tiny glow is so pretty. This fun bracelet is from Ticky Tacky and comes for both arms. I'm a sucker for beads and bracelets and it has plaid what more could you want?

Finally I have this lovely long necklace from Elemental Earth Designs. It comes in 4 colors.

Jewelry Fair 2010- My favorite Freebies from the Forest

So it's jewelry fair time again yay! The fair runs until Oct. 17th and takes up 4 sims.  If you have EVER read this blog you know how much I love jewelry/accessories so I actually am going to be trying to keep up and give you my favorite things from each sim this year.

I'm starting with the freebies because there are some really awesome ones this year.  The theme this year is Beauty and the Beast and I'm starting in the Forest themed sim.



The top pearl earrings and necklace are from Dark Mouse Jewelry and the bottom earrings are from La Forgia.  This is very classic jewelry something you can wear over and over.



These are more whimsical. The top set is from Donna Flora and I think this necklace would be great as a collar on an outfit. The bottom cuff is from Silk & Satyr and the bow is color changeable, two of my favorite things in one item.

I put these two necklace in the more earthy category. The top is a super cute steampunkish necklace from Lazy Places. The bottom one is a simple yet elegant freshwater pearl necklace from Sable Rose Jewelry.

3/18/09 Relay for Life Clothing Fair

Relay for Life is one of my favorite charities every year, designers really come together and put out massive amounts of items. Also the cause is near and dear to me as I like everyone have lost more than one family member to cancer.

Last year when I went to the RFL clothing fair I decided to do a mix up of freebies and RFL exclusive outfits. That was so much fun I decided to do it again but this time I only used pieces from RFL exclusive outfits. There were so many, 8 sims worth! It’s only until March 22 so I would head over there if you haven’t yet it’s very busy and quite bit laggy as to be expected. Everyone has worked really hard and I think I could have made 5 more outfits out of all the items I got but I decided to limit it to 5.

Once again I didn’t wear any accessories and only added shoes and hair for each outfit. I am wearing my Pirate Annie skin from Celestial Studios Halloween exclusive with these little prim cheek color’s added from Love Soul. My eyes are the Avocado 2 from Scarlia and are the one’s I’ve been wearing the most lately. I hope you like seeing these as much as I liked putting them together!

RFL Outfit #1

My first outfit started with the skirt from the Blooming Flower dress in lilac from Clio, this dress has a super cute flowery top and comes on all the layers. For a scultpy skirt it fits really well. The lacy white top I have on along with the bow are from the Kielka Dress from Diversity. The bow changes colors and is really adorable. Over the white top I have on this sheer top from the Mimi Petal outfit from Moonshine. This comes as part of an outfit with a bandeau top and long flowey skirt it’s really springy. I was happy with just how perfectly everything seemed to match it almost looks like it was made for each other!

RFL Outfit #2

I knew I had to have this jacket when I saw it, it comes in a big set with shorts and stockings. My only disappointment is that the jacket is only on the shirt layer so it was a little hard to find a shirt to layer underneath. I decided to go all fun and piratey and put the hand me down undershirt with its vibrant purple color. I am showing a little extra skin but it just makes the laces on the jacket stand out all the more. These super cute pants are from the Purple Passion set from StoRin, the belt also came from that set. You all know by now my sadness with prim belts but this one fit with only a tiny little resize up (5%) so I can’t wait to try out the other colors Annah made.

RFL Outfit #3

This outfit started with the gorgeous corset from the Parle? outfit from eLDee. The corset comes on the jacket layer and includes the maroon part and the teal part with the straps. I of course needed something to make it a little more decent and the top from the Bandage outfit from Sn@tch matched perfectly. I love the lines on this top. My pants are from the Past Life Pirate set from Mischief and they come with a highwaisted portion that is really cute. I actually found ANOTHER belt that I liked from the Morgan set from INDI Designs I am new to this designer but this belt also fit with very little adjustments so I will definately be checking out their main shop.

The Dame de Lotus dress from Icing is absolutely gorgeous and soft and even came with a lovely parasol! I chose to wear the skirt just to show off how soft the texturing is. Over the skirt I have this vest/corset combo from the Morgan outfit. Underneath this I’m wearing the top from the winged angel top from League, this dress is also gorgeous and I know I’ll be wearing the skirt with many other things the texturing is really lovely.

RFL Outfit #5

Of course I couldn’t get through the mix and match outfits without making one fancy dress. This skirt from the Nephilim outfit from Silent Sparrow is so wonderful. From the back it seems to be a long flowing skirt but it opens up in the front to more of a cocktail length. Of course the set is huge like all of Hya’s sets and completely worth buying especially for charity. This lovely top is from the Hope outfit in black from Awesome Designs. This set also comes with quite a few pieces including pants, and 2 lengths of skirts my only disappointment with this set is that the shirt only comes on the Jacket layer. I would love to mix it with many things but it makes it a little difficult.

3/17/09 The Armoire: A Jewelry Showcase

I wanted to post about this wonderful event:

For five days (March 18 - 22), you are invited to a special trunk-show designed to showcase finely crafted jewelry.  Five designers (Candy Cerveau, Caliah Lyon, Violet Voltaire, Kesseret Steeplechase, and Saiyge Lotus) have created a mystical labyrinth with living dioramas that reflect the moods of their collections.  In each of these rooms, models will showcase these jeweler's wares, with a pavilion for purchases nestled at the center of the maze.  The Journeyman's Quest is the hunt challenge within this event, yielding jewelry (including limited edition items) for the tenacious journeyman jeweler.  See jewelry in a way that you haven't before!

This Sunday (tomorrow) at 7:00pm slt, Achariya Maktoum, is throwing a Baby Shower for Hethr at PIN UPS Night Club with Jhuzen Ketsugo DJ’ing and Everyone is invited!  You don’t need to bring a gift, there’s something else planned for that instead, but you have to join us to find out what it is!

Ooops Halloween Party was tonight and I missed most of it but we’re having an other tomorrow

Ok I feel really silly I know the invite for the party said Friday but I was under the impression that it was Saturday and apparently I can’t read. I showed up really late so if any of you came and I missed you I’m so sorry but I hope you had lots of fun! Also Happy Birthday Violet! It was a surprise party for her too.

I’ve decided since I missed most of this one and lied to half the people we are doing a party Saturday night as well! Same thing starting at 7pm sl time at  Party Site! Just hop down from the shop.

Halloween Party!

A couple friends (Violet Voltaire and Starlene Fatale) and I are having a Halloween Party. We all have plans Halloween weekend but this weekend seemed like a great time to dress up and get together. We have a super spooky little area set up with snacks and we’ll even have some little goodie bags set out.

It should be a great place to come hang out and get to know some people and of course show off those Halloween costumes. I’ll be playing some spooky and not so spooky music and we’ll have some trivia and some fun party questions. So we hope that you can all come and join us at the Party Site! 

9/4/08 Guest Submission Annah Whitfield

Hello All,

As you have noticed I’ve had a lot of guest submission lately. Keep it up I love them! I am also having some issues with my photoshop/computer so these are saving me from having an empty blog! Annah went on an outfit spree a couple weeks ago and this is one of them, I am always happy to take multiple submissions so if you get extra ambitious and put together 2 or 3 at a time,please send them over!

Now for Annah’s lovely outfit:

I am in a cool mood! I am always very girly, even when I don't play dressed up! Or at least I try to be! This came out to be very simple, pre-autumn look! I am not all well dressed up, but I still feel girly and sexy. What I usually want in an outfit/item is the flexibility! I need stuff that can be worn in several occasions and with several styles. This shorts and top I am wearing today are the perfect example of that, because they can be wear in several occasions, in the most diverse styles.

 

It all started with this awesome turtleneck sweater from Maitreya. It is part of the Sendal dress, but I really love the way you can use the top of the dress with a lot of other stuff! It has a lot of sculpted parts, that makes it look so real. I put on my Armidi white shorts from the Buone Vacanze outfit! Again very simple, but very well made! They come with sculpted cuffs to give some realism and they look great in all kind of outfits!

 

I've put on one of my favourite boots! I am all for boots, and :69: has some amazing boots. This one are the... and they are awesome! Because it is a pre-autumn look, I've also added this Corduroy leggings. They are very funky but still girly and I love the perfect stripes!

I've pulled my hair to just one side, with this cute hair from Mirai Style! Mirai is one of my favourite hair stylist right now! I go through fases, and maybe because I already own and use all of EDT, Calla, and PE hairs (my top three), and I am moving to another hair store... and Mirai is exactly the style I am into now! Fun, funky, spectacular hair!

 

The jewels I put on are simple, but some of my favourite too! My good friend Myllie Writer from Persona started doing jewelry and she does it so well... Again, the kind of jewels that you can wear in all styles!

 

For the skin, this time, I have changed the colour. Yes, it is still my beloved Pink Portia, but this time in Cinnanom, because I wanted a tanned, after summer, look and this one is perfect. I never get tired of saying that Annyka skins are the best ones :P

9/2/08 Alpha Omega Mu Grand Prize Winner Glimmer Forcella

This look was inspired by my modeling aspirations.  It's a little bit couture, a little bit professional and a little bit soccer mom.  It's versatile for many different occasions and is as ready to walk down the runway and it is to walk down the street.

I started with the skirt from CKSD that I found and loved the colors for the upcoming fall season. I paired it with a tank from Nyte'N'Day  and a sweater jacket from REALE.  To go with a punch of color I added the peep toe pumps from DeLa in Deep Forrest Green.

All the jewelry is from Persona, and though not a "set" works well with this outfit with the combination of wood and bronze.  The purse is a JCNY design, and as with all of her designs, it has lots of options so you can wear it with any outfit you need.  The purse has two attachment points one for hand and one for shoulder. The glasses are actual sunglasses that are changeable that I loved the style and size of and I have changed them to glasses, with brown frames for this particular outfit.  They are versatile for all outfits because of the may options that they have.

My hair, skin, nails, and shape are my everyday wear.  The hair is from Fetish Boutique and though only available in black, well worth it for the flexi and curls.  The shape is from Pretense, their designs are based on model shapes, and can be altered, so mine is tweaked a bit.  The skin is Karoline, from Brasil Shop, and have many different options and incredible detail.  The nails are from Awesome Designs and are available in many different colors and styles for today I chose nude.  My eyes are from Reflex, and are green, kinda sparkly, something you want to look at :D.

Alpha Omega Mu Event Overview

Well the event went very well! It was nice to sit on the sidelines for once and just judge. They put up a beautiful stage and seating area. It was so much more organized than my events usually are hehe.

They raised just over 5200L for the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation and that was just with donations from the crowd. The MC for the event was the lovely Marlaiya Portello and she is also the Vice President and Treasurer for the Alpha Omega Mu Sorority. As you can see she has on a beautiful gown ( I forgot to ask from where) it was very daring and the pattern was gorgeous.

There were 3 judges, it was interesting because we all had very different view points on what we were looking for so I think we came up with well balanced scores. Pictured with me below are Tempest Hennessy COO of Instyle Fashion Agency and Rockwell Maxiumus of Ground Level Radio and host of the Maximus Files. They were both great and it was fun to judge with them.

The event started with the women of the Alpha Omega Mu Sorority doing a step routine. It was pretty neat and they all looked adorable in their matching outfits. (Sorry to the girl that wouldn’t rez her face for me I’m sure she was lovely.)

After that it was time for the female finalists. There were 5 (Pictured Below Left to Right): Shanina Chenaux, Glimmer Forcella, Maegen Parvenu, Alla Ruff and Brandy Rasmuson.

It was very hard to choose everyone looked wonderful and the judges and I had to do a little deliberating. The second Runner up was Maegen Parvenu, the 1^st runner up was Brandy Rasmuson and the Grand Prize winner was Glimmer Forcella. I will have her post up a little later, but she she looked very put together and polished.

Next it was onto the Men, which was a nice change for me because we didn’t really have that many men come to the Closet Crisis events and only one male winner (Yay Van!). There were 4 male finalists.

It was nice to see the men so put together and this was an even harder category to judge. Eventually after a little discussion we had the winners. The 2^nd runner up was Collojoro Catteneo, 1^st runner up was Zeus Zabibha and the Grand Prize winner was Shaun Arliss. The judges really liked Shaun’s simplicity in his outfit and his use of attachments.

At the end of the show they surprised me at least by providing entertainment! Jazmin Pennell came on stage and sang a Beyonce song a cappella. It was really lovely and a nice treat.

Two other people that were very responsible for how smooth and put together the event was were Shinesse Madison (Dean of Pledges for the Alpha Omega Mu Sorority) and Sunnibunni  Lewis. Shinesse did a lot of the behind the scenes work and also I believed set up the step dance. Sunnibunni did the DJ-ing for the event and she announced the contestants. She had a very clear professional voice and played some great music.

I had a lot of fun being at this event and it was strange being on the observing end, but also very nice. I had a blast and it was wonderful that some money was raised for charity. Thank you to everyone that came and especially to the contestants. You all looked fabulous and I love to see all the different styles.

A Friend brought this idea she had for an event so I hope you guys send in entries since I know you all look amazing!! Plus it looks fun and is for a great cause.

On August 31st, 2008 @ 5pm slt, The Diamond Divas of Alpha Omega Mu Sorority, Inc. are teaming up with Hethr Engel to bring you the HOTTEST most Unique Fashion show you will ever see! AOM's First "Closet Crisis" Event to help support The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. Help AOM fight for the cure!
 
Grand Prize Winners will recieve a spread on the Closet Crisis Blog, A House valued at 2,000L courtesy of SOHO, and 10k Split!!! There will also be Second Place (male/female) and Third Place (male/female) who will also recieve Great Prizes!!

3/20/08 Relay For Life - Clothing Fair

Because our blog is a little different than typical review blogs I usually miss out on blogging about special events. Especially when they involve exclusive items. So this year I didn’t want to miss out on Relay for Life and I decided I would try something different.

I think if you haven’t been yet then hurry over before this event ends. Not only is it for a great cause but there are 84 great designers all with samples of not only their regular work but some spectacular sets to benefit Relay for Life.

I went around the clothing fair and gathered up what I wanted of the exclusive and the freebies (and of course a few other new releases I couldn’t resist but you’ll see those later) then I thought it would be fun to make 4 outfits out of them.

I used only the Relay for Life exclusive and the freebies in the stores. The hair and shoes are from my inventory and I didn’t wear any jewelry just to cut down some of the slurl work for myself. I will be making my descriptions shorter than usual, but I have provided the slurls on the Relay for Life sims.

My first outfit is made of 2 rfl exclusives and one freebie. The beautiful top I’m wearing is from the Petals Dress from Awesome designs. This dress comes in 2 lengths and even though the top is only on the Jacket layer it is beautiful and works very well with things layered under it.

I chose the Francoice dress top from the freebie box at Bossa Nova. She gave probably one of the best freebie boxes away at the fair. It contains quite a few dresses most of them she has for sale in her shop in other colors so be sure to pick one up. The skirt I have on is from the Cutie Out outift from Devilish Cupcake. It is such a fun design and I liked that the white matched the white used on the Bossa nova lace top.

I put on the Tuli hair from Aden, the Vogue Skin (Peach Light) from Celestial Studios and the Lola’s in white from Shiny Things to complete the outfit. I think this was a nice way to blend the ultra feminine dress from Awesome designs with the casual fun feel of the skirt from Devilish Cupcake.

My second outfit actually takes 2 great single rfl exclusives and added in one freebie. The Maroon Jean Jacket is from Nyte and Day and comes on all 3 layers.

I paired it up with the Pink J’adore skirt from Irelyn. This is a system skirt, but she did such a  wonderful shading job on it that it is very wearable, even if the system skirt scares you. It also comes in black. (on a side note I don’t wear a skirt shape so if you have one of course it wear a little differently on you)

The Jelly Belly top is a freebie from Devilish Cupcake, she also has quite a few freebies in her booth so don’t miss it. I liked that this had a little green to accent the purple in the jacket.

My hair is Tasha from ETD, my shoes are the Ring Mule in Pink from Luly and well the skin I have on is a Vogue skin but I have a confession to make. I forgot to write down which one and short of trying on every skin and matching up the makeup I’m not sure which one. I do know it’s very lovely.

I think this is my funnest outfit of the bunch. It really changed the feel of the outfits I mixed. The top is from the Purple Blossom rfl outfit from Barerose. This is a very elegant dress with a tiered prim skirt.

I chose to wear the top over the Spider Baby bloomers from the rfl outfit from Silent Sparrow. This outfit is infinitely mixable with skirts, capri's, bloomers, and even a corset. It’s a definite must have, besides it’s pink with bows and ruffles.

My hair is one I don’t wear very often but has super cute little barrettes it’s called Rylee from Deviant Kitties, the shoes are the flats from Veschi and the Chai skin I have on is the Cerise makeup.

My last look blended two looks to create an elegant but still funky evening gown.

The top and corset are from the Spider Baby rfl outfit and how even more how much these pieces can be used in different looks. The skirt is from the gorgeous sating shine dress from Nicky Ree. Amazingly this dress is being given out for free.

The hair I have on is the Rhosyn from Philotic Energy, the skin is the Winter 3 Vogue Skin from Celestial Studios and the shoes you can barely see but are still really pretty are the Rosalinde from LC Vamp collection. I really love how these 2 pieces came together and i only wish I had a fancy event to wear it to.

This is a cause that is near and dear to my heart having lost a few family members to cancer so I’m always amazed every year when Second Life comes together for this. I hope I have done the event some justice.
